If you were raised in the 90’s, you must have most likely seen “The Secret Garden”, about a young girl who is sent to live with her uncle, and discovers a hidden garden, that she, and two boys bring back to its former glory. Well that’s the thought that popped up the minute we entered the Café del Jardín.

Found in in the Museo del Romanticismo (Calle de San Mateo, 13), this little green enclave is perfect for those who want a coffee in a truly special botanical haven. It’s small size adds to its charm, with a fountain, small statues and plants that will make you forget where you are, and even which century you’re in. A summer night’s dream in all its glory that will smitten you for sure.

You also have the choice to sit inside, in a truly wonderful setting, with decor recreating an era long gone, but not forgotten. As elegant as any era could be, the Romanticism Era is probably the best fit for an afternoon of Tea & Cakes.

The Museum is a small palace that looks to recreate the daily lives of the Bourgeoisie during the Romanticism Era. A very informative and immersive experience for anyone interested in this period, as well as an introduction to some of its protagonist!
